Title: Marketing Director
Location: Playa Hermosa, Jaco – Costa Rica

JOB DESCRIPTION

The position of Marketing Director at Del Mar Adventures will be responsible for the marketing portfolios of three companies within its subsidiary, Del Mar Surf Camp and Del Mar Surfing Academy. The position reports to the owners of the companies respectively and is a key asset in supporting business objectives through strategic online and offline marketing efforts. Evaluates customer research, market conditions and implements marketing plan changes as needed with special emphasis on online effectiveness. Oversees and executes all marketing, advertising, brand management, pricing and promotion.

We are looking for someone who is completely self motivated, a team player and can push the team to understand and adapt to new marketing trends. While the job is demanding, it is equally as fun. While, the nature of your work is independent (work from home, mostly), there is a always a need to join surf trips, set meetings, attend surf lessons and classes outdoors to get content and understand the day to day business. And if that is not something you would enjoy, then this job is not for you!

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Outstanding communication skills in English for copywriting and press releases.
• Ability to effectively run and manage online ad campaigns with Google Adwords
• Continuously manage website analytics to improve website performance through Google Analytics
• Responsible for Online and Offline Marketing Management handling Budgets, Expenditures and Brand Management
• Proactively manage all aspects of print production and distribution.
• Social Media Marketing and Community Management including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr
• Easily adaptable to new technologies and eager to learn new platforms for the market
• Videography and photography experience an asset but not requirement.
• Work and secure agencies and travel agents through travel networks and other channels to secure increased online exposure
• Design, implement and facilitate annual marketing plans for all 3 companies
• Basic knowledge of SEO and Link Building
• Basic knowledge of Photoshop/Illustrator
• Basic HTML Ability (For working with WordPress CMS)
• Works with outsourced marketing suppliers when needed to maintain in house reservation system and graphic needs.

MARKETING QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3 years professional marketing experience.
• Experience with New Media and Internet Advertising
• Detail oriented with the ability to manage projects and campaign with the teams from inception to execution
• Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees to achieve objectives and support other departments.
• Assist the business units to achieve marketing objectives (pricing, promotion, product and distribution)
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Spanish speaking preferred but not required.
• Has been to Costa Rica or willing to travel and reside in Costa Rica for an extending period of time.
• Willingness to travel to and within Costa Rica to visit subsidiary operations.
